NYS-AIMH is part of a network of professionals worldwide who use the Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Endorsement.  The Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health oversees the implementation of Endorsement globally and manages the administration of the Endorsement exam (category specific). Once your application is submitted, reviewed, and you are approved to sit for the exam, you will purchase your exam registration from the Alliance directly for a registration fee of $200.

Looking Ahead

Beginning January, 2025, the Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health exam for Mental Health Mentors will have a change is exam fees. The new exam fee will be $240.00.

January 1, 2025, there will no longer be an exam to become endorsed as I/ECMHS. Instead, there will be additions and updates made to the requirements for the I/ECMHS Endorsement application.  These updates will ask for demonstration of standards related to what the exam was measuring for.

Alliance Logo

You are joining an international group of professionals who have chosen to earn the Endorsement credential as a way to demonstrate specialization in the infant-early childhood mental health field. Endorsement was developed by the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health in 2002 and is now used by 37 state IMH associations and 2 international associations. Each of those associations is a member of the Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health.

Through the Alliance, this means that your Endorsement is recognized in each of those 39 associations.
