Exam Information:

- Beginning January, 2025, the Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health exam for Mental Health Mentors will have a change is exam fees. The new exam fee will be $240.00.

- Starting January 1, 2025, there will no longer be an exam to become endorsed as I/ECMHS. Instead, there will be additions and updates made to the requirements for the I/ECMHS Endorsement application.  These updates will ask for demonstration of standards related to what the exam was measuring for.  Please note all Mental Health Specialist applications in the 'In-Progress' status will be put on hold from August 2024-January 2025.

NYS-AIMH is part of a network of professionals worldwide who use the Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Endorsement.  The Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health oversees the implementation of Endorsement globally. The Alliance has written a memo explaining these changes, and all associations within the Alliance network will adopt them in January 2025.  Please review the memo HERE

- All exams are administered by the Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health, with an exam registration fee of $240.00 paid to the Alliance. Your Endorsement Coordinator will provide more information regarding registration once your application has been submitted. Effective for all new applicants February 1, 2024. Applicants are processed on a ongoing basis and exams are now administered on a monthly basis. Find our updated Endorsement fees HERE

Alliance Logo

You are joining an international group of professionals who have chosen to earn the Endorsement credential as a way to demonstrate specialization in the infant-early childhood mental health field. Endorsement was developed by the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health in 2002 and is now used by 37 state IMH associations and 2 international associations. Each of those associations is a member of the Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health.

Through the Alliance, this means that your Endorsement is recognized in each of those 39 associations.
